Sure did. I wanted to do some weight reduction on the block!

New (to me) shortblock is together, TQed, with the cam in. This is my first shortblock build. All we did was cleaned the pistons and rods a little, threw some new rings in with a looser gap, and gave each bore a fresh hone with a cheapo vatozone renta-hone.

These LS motors aren't really picky, I think I just had bad luck with the previous one. It'll be interesting to see how long my first attempt at engine building lasts.
