Default Name that plug

Hello everyone, I've been lurking on the site for some time and finally need some help.

I'm not sure if I need this plug.

It then runs into this plug

and into a splice then into these plugs http://www.flickr.com/photos/8806953@N02/8038176629/

Only your last picture is showing up. The first three go to my own flickr text only index. Maybe you have them restricted as to who can view them? I notice they are https which indicates secure versus the last one which is http.

what did the harness come from? If I had to guess, it's a power feed to a relay that services two systems. Do you have a wiring diagram from your harness? Find those 2 plugs on it and trace back to how and where they get power from.

It's out of a 99 silverado. There is also a pink wire coming out of the C2 (D9) going to the big square plug. Lt1 swap says that D9 is not used.

Do the 2 weatherpak plugs have any other wiring in them that connect to the PCM, or another connector, or is the entire harness standalone?

I wonder if it's something optional, like a brake-trailer towing adapter harness ?

So I looked at the back side of the big square plug and found the numbers 85, 86, 87 & 30. I then found those same numbers on a schematic saying that it all has to do with dual fuel tanks. Could that be true? I wouldn't think that a 99 silverado would have dual fuel tanks.

Those are standard pin numbers for a relay, as I surmised above.

Any response to post #7 ?

The numbers I'm referring to are casted on the plug, not pin numbers.

The 2 weatherpak plugs have one red wire and one black. Red going to the square plug and black are grounds. There is one pink wire from the square plug going to the C2 plug position D9. There is also a tan wire from the square plug going to the red connector pin 3. LT1 swap says its a Fuel Pump Relay Control - Secondary. I'm going to take my chances and get rid of it. Don't think I need it for a standalone harness.
