I'm building a 93 Notch w/a LsX conversion... I have a hook-up on a 4L80e w/a trans go kit included.. I've never used or seen on used though so any opinions would be sweet... The other alternative is the tank TH400. I know there is about a 100lb difference in the two. I just like the overdrive idea but don't know about the manual valve body... Thanks fellas!!

I cant say about the 80e but i had a hd3 in my 60e and worked out pretty good(1st one i had nutn but problems in the past with transgo kits).
My buddy has a 80e with a jakes controller box to controll it(full manual). A couple wires to hook it up and not a bad price.
any cheap valve body kits or boxes are most likely to be manual. They all are to my knowledge. Unless you want auto and the boxes are alot.
Transgo or a jakes box going to be the cheapest and easiest.
Gets old shifting but i never drove my car alot lol

I have had no problems with my transgo kit on my 80. It is supposed to increase the life by putting more pressure on the clutches. My trans has low miles, though.

I have one in my fully built 80 and have beat the **** out of it for years and it still works great.

I take it the trans has a -3 kit? I installed the HD2 when I rebuilt my 80e, which is NOT full manual and NOT designed to hold 1st - that must be done with a tune. The trans has been great though, for not being a manual.
