Default database for junkyard parts?

Tried searching all the forums but cant find all the info for what engines come out of which cars. Where can you find the aluminum 5.3L, does it come with aluminum heads? Small valves? Are there any 6.0 L aluminum block and heads? Do all 05 up engines use ls2 style rods? Do any of you think the aluminum 5.3 would be durable as the iron versions? Thanks for the input, getting tired from all the searching!

I work at a trans shop and how gm decides what the aluminum 5.3s go in is beond me. From what I see that more gmc trucks have them then chevys.. a guy I work.with has a 08 or 09 loaded Chevy 1500 with the iron 5.3 with 243 heads. These 243s I heard use a smaller valve. Idk. While it seems like the loaded gmc's tend to get the aluminum.
As for the rods from what I read. Yes the 05 up get ls2 style rods.
Yes they do make a aluminum 6.0. It's called a ls2.
The iron blocks are sappose 2 be stronger. At then end of the day its seems like when it comes to 5.3's its like whatever they have laying there they toss in lol. I don't understand how they decide what 1500 truck gets what 5.3

LS4 5.3L was used in the cars but has a 60* bellhouse and is very hard to adapt.

The L33 5.3L HO was used in the trucks 05-07

There is also an Gen IV LH6 5.3L it started in 05 in hte trailblazers it has AFM though.

Most the Gen IV 5.3L are aluminum now as well 07-up

All the later 5.3L have the 243/799 heads same castings as the LS6/2 units. Most all have AFM as well. The 2010 up have VVT.

The L33 has the 799 heads as well and flat tops.

Basically its what the dealer or owner orders for the trucks.

Just search on car-part.com as mentioned. Search 2005 up trucks you'll want the L33.
