1969 Pro Street Camaro, 5.3 twin turbo
Hi everyone. I’ve been lurking forever and it’s finally time to start working on my car. I have been reading as much as I can about LS engines and turbos. I will post the build here and on Turbo Forums.
The car:
1969 Camaro coupe. Original drive train was a 350 2bbl, turbo 350, 10 bolt. Green with black interior.
I bought the car in 1991 and drove it for a few years. I tore it apart to restore it and the pro street bug bit me. I cut the floor out and installed a Chassis Works street 4 link with a 9” that I narrowed myself. I rebuilt the front sub frame, added disc brake spindles and 6 cyl coil springs. The car has manual steering.
The Camaro has been sitting untouched for way too long and has deteriorated quite a bit. I finally dragged it out of storage and brought it to my work place (machine and welding shop)
The plan: twin turbo 5.3 with a turbo 400. I would also like to add a/c so I can drive the car daily in the summer months. I also plan on building everything so I can update down the road to a bigger, stronger LS engine. This means a strong rear end, good fuel system and have the turbo system easily upgradeable by just swapping out the turbos if they are too small.
Believe me when I say that I have used the search button more times than I can count and have read everything I could find. I would really appreciate all of your help, suggestions and ideas.
I don’t have a budget in mind because I would probably give up now if I added up what this is going to cost. I need to do everything as cheaply as possible. I can tig weld and machine pretty much anything, so that should help out

Chassis works street 4 link (has poly ends instead of heims), singlr adjustable coil overs and narrowed 9".
Here's how I connected the rear frame to the original fron sub frame. I was a kid when i did that and think I will cut it out and change it. I had also put new front floor pans in all those years ago. (1995)

So the first thing I want to do is get the engine and trans mocked into place so I can figure out where the exhust will run. That way I can make mods to the frame and design the floor sheet metal to accomodate the exhaust.
How much horsepower will dual 3" exhaust support?
