Default BMW 528i ls1+6sp

Just thought I would share my 97 BMW 528i.
It has an 02 Camaro LS1 with 6sp. I built the 1 7/8" headers, exhaust, motor mounts, and wire harness myself. I used a stock fbody pan.
I installed an M5 diff with a 3.15 gear and lsd. I'm currently looking for some 3.64 or 3.91 gears.
I got the factory cluster to work and kept the A/C and ABS.

I have been thinking of building one of these as a daily, but I hear that there are always minor things breaking on them. How have you found the reliability with the electronics ect?

I have a swapped car and the most reliable part about it is everything I swapped. It's the car that keeps breaking

nice catch on that volvo coolant bottle.

they have shitty cooling systems. but an ls1 swap cancels that out if you use a new radiator.
they do have some electrical issues, but they are well known and been pretty easy to fix.

I'm on that forum a little bit, mostly lurking like I do here. Got a link to your projects?

I think I'm going to do a build thread on my next project which is my 63 nova with a 5.3 turbo, 4l80e, etc.

Here is all the pics I have of the headers out of the car:

If I was going to do it again, I would do 1 3/4" tube instead of 1 7/8".
The passenger side looks similar, just a little shorter. The passenger side was much easier due to not having a fat steering shaft in the way.

Thanks for the pics. Glad you mentioned the 1 3/4" vs. 1 7/8". I went back and forth as to what size to go with. Good thing I settled for the smaller diameter.
