Default Turbo 5.3L 1968 Camaro Build, TH400, S480

I am putting a turbo 5.3L truck motor in my 68 Camaro. Here is the setup:

-LS1 F-body accessories
-LS1 intake manifold
-Unisteer rack & pinion kit
-Hummer H3 oil pan (http://www.ebay.com/itm/300705032654)
-Modified Small block frame mounts
-Energy poly mounts
-Turbo 400 transmission
-Ebay adapter brackets
-BW S480 turbo
-Sumped stock tank
-Holley Billet fuel pump
-Autometer gauges
-Fuelab FPR
-1000cc injectors
-Current Performance wiring harness
-Speed Inc. turbo cam
-Driveshaft Shop aluminum driveshaft

The car had a 396 big block in it that made a whopping 200whp on a Mustang dyno. This was not acceptable.

To make this easier to read I will add more pictures to the 1st post as I move along on this project.

UPDATE 12-20-12, Turbo Placement:

Update 1-15-13: Turbo kit has been further built. Its coming together!

Update 11-10-13: IT RUNS!!! Also started putting together the interior.

The alternator will be very close. Some have had to slightly grind the alternator for clearance, others have fit without mods. It really depends on the height of the motor mounts / plates used.

Looking good so far. What are your plans for the turbo(s), manifolds, piping layout etc?

Running a Borg Warner S480 turbo and flipped truck manifolds. I put up some pictures of the turbo mounted in its final spot. Its a tight fit but will work great.

The oil pan hangs a solid 1.5-2" below the crossmember. Its definately not ideal but will work for now.

The passenger head is about 1" away from the firewall.

I dont have pics of the mounts. Basically we welded in tubes 3/4" above the oem holes in the mounts to basically raise the motor 3/4".

Yah I saw that, it looks great. Do you have any pics of the passenger side header/manifold and the turbo support bracket? I need some ideas.

passenger side exhaust is a custom made log manifold with turbo flange made on it
drivers side is a 99 camaro manifold with a pipe from it to the back side of passenger manifold

you can buy the one on passenger side from Yates EFI check out their web site YATESEFI.COM talk to Randy very helpful and all round nice guy

I am using a converter built for a Th400, I cant remember the brand off the top of my head, its a smaller company. The flexplate is by B&M. And I had to use a crank spacer to fill the gap between the converter and crank.

I'm glad ya took this route over modding that 396 BBC boat motor.
his is going to be a whole new game for you compared to AWD 800 HP laggy, no torque 4 bangers.
