LS1 to LQ4 - GTO - Help!
I have a complete (100%) lq4 pullout from a 2004 truck or suv with like 54k miles that I am considering swapping over to my 2004 gto. I understand I may have to drill a hole for the ls1 brackets, No big deal. I understand I will have to use all of my brackets ect from the ls1. I already have the ls1 apart because I was swapping to PRC227 heads with a torqer v3 cam along with a fast intake and fuel rails and new headers and exhaust. I have HPT so the tune is not an issue as far as changing what needs to be changed.
Can I use the flywheel from the ls1 in place of the flexplate that is on the LQ4? Same ballance?
I already ordered a LS2 timing chain. Can I use that on the LQ4? I understand the lq4 is a 6.0 like the ls2 but did not know if that part is interchangable.
With the cam and heads that I got for my ls1 (PRC227's and Torquer v3) should I send those back and swap out for something different due to the additional displacement?
Thanks in advance.
