hello everyone. I am looking to buy a 1998 xj this week. it currently has a 4.0 and a 4sp auto. I was thinking next summer while its off the road, doing some major surgery. My questions (for now) are this. will the weight difference between the 5.3 and stock ls1 really hurt? also, 6l80 vs 4l80. i realize the 4l80 would be the easier of the 2, but is the 6l80 reasonably possible? I plan on adapting to the t-case to keep 4wd. The final product I am looking for is a full time dd over 350whp, and over 20mpg (avg). Also, this will be my 1st ls swap. I have done a few sbc in my 85 t/a, and maintenance on all my cars, but no ls yet... Thanks everyone for your input.

I was just thinking, what if i found an xj that was a 5sp. how hard would a t56 conversion vs the auto swap.
