Default Water Pump heater hose bypass?

I have an F-body water pump on my lq9. Can I just cap off the line on the water pump for the heater core untill I install the heater core, or do I have to run a loop of hose to bypass 1 side to the other?

Thanks

It's 50/50 from what I've read, half say the motor was designed to have that coolant flow, the others just say cap them. I'd personally do the hose that let's the coolant circulate.

You can loop it if you want to but it's not required. It will cool fine with them capped.

I would like to know why people say the caps don't work. Looking at the pump...being blocked off or having a bypass hose doesnt change the situation either way. Water has no where to go and the pressure is still present.

Someone please chime in.

I could see issues if people were using the quick spring clamps. I'm using worm gear clamps. They are not going anywhere....

The way the pump outlets are...The hose / caps don't appear to matter.

Can someone post pics of the pump internally?

^^^^^ I would tap and plug them and then when you are ready to hook up the heat just screw some brass hose barbs or -AN finttings in the holes.
