Default 4L60, 4L70E or 6L80E

I purchased an L99 engine from a 2010 camaro to put in a 67 Camaro. I can buy the factory 6L80E trans that was in the same car. I'm not sure if I should go with that or buy a 4L60 or 4L70 instead. I am doing the swap, other than the programming myself. The end goal is to have 400-450RWHP and the car will be only a weekend cruiser with the occasional road trip. I'm not concerned with fuel economy, just want a nice cruiser with power and comfort. The 6L80 is much larger and will surely require some trans tunnel mods but im not sure if its worth the extra fab work. Any thoughts or experience with this?

thanks

There is a thread on a guy that put a 6L90E into the early Camaro. It was not that bad. The 6L80E is slightly shorter then the 6L90E and about the same length as the 4L60/70 transmissions. It is the girth that is different. By the way I am putting a 6L80E in my 1965 Skylark.

6L80E is a nice transmission and as stated it is more girthy (typically towards the rear of the transmission) than other GM automatics. Keep in mind that if you go with the 4L60E or 4L70E make sure they have 15 or 17 pins in the transmission connector. If it has 13 pins (mid 07 and early 4L60E) it wont work with the T42 controller as it lacks an input speed sensor. FYI, I have heard some people say they can 'tune' this provision out of the PCM but no one can offer proof of this.
