LS into 1971 Chev SWB 6.0 & 6L90
Ok guys, go easy on me! I don't know much about LS motors except for the one I drive and only do oil and air filter changes to.
I bought a 6.0 L96 and 6L90 out of a 2011 2500 2wd with 19,000 mi. I am going to put it into a 1971 Chev swb that I have owned since 1991. Keep in mind, I am use to carbs and bad fuel mileage.
I bought the ECE motor mounts and trans mount. Ordered the Walbro 255 pump and corvette regulator, the Doug Thorley 324Y headers, caddy cts v oil pan , and I have line on a intake, injectors, and fuel rail out of a 2013 camaro.
I plan on sending my harness and computer to Speartech.
The rest I am just winging it.
Can you " Gurus " give me some more suggestions and opinions.
What will I gain with the camaro intake? I hate to mess with a motor that has such few miles on it, but I know about the lust for more power!
Heres a few pics of the truck and the new motor/trans.

Not a guru but I love your truck and the swap. I will have a 71-72 swb with an ls motor some day. I think the only thing about a Camaro intake is it looks cleaner imo. I think the truck intake makes more hp. I'd leave the truck intake on and drive it like you stole it. Good luck. post up some progress pics.

Nice looking truck! Sounds like you've done some homework and are on the right path. As for the Camaro intake, I probably wouldn't change it, unless you just have one lying around, I would leave the truck intake on it since it will make more torque down low which is what you need to move a heavy truck.

I hate to fix something thats not broke!
I see you over on the 67-72 truck board. My user name over there is JRDV.
I may need more of your knowledge on this swap! I just got done reading through your build thread. Great job!
Thanks
John

All looks good to me.
If you're wanting power I'd cam/converter it.
Not sure what the obsession with Speartech for harnesses/programming is, they seem pretty proud of their services.
There are plenty of sponsors on here that can convert your harness for you cheaper. Tuning could be done locally and in reality it should be done via dyno tune to get optimal results.

I'd run the Camaro intake it's so much cleaner looking. Also gives you bigger injectors in case you move up in power. If you are going to do a cam swap do it now. So much easier with the engine out of the truck. New valve springs and push rods also. On my C10 LS swap I used 2002 Camaro front accessories. Big Afco dual pass radiator. It has the inlet and outlet on the passenger side so hoses are easy to route. Single Spal 16" fan controlled by the ECM. I'm running C5 Corvette brakes all around with a C5 booster and master. Bought a booster mount from Captain Fab. Moves the booster much closer to the fire wall. Lower mine 4/6. I used a 69 Camaro gas tank mounted in back. Don't know if I'm crazy about it. You can see it from the side of the truck but I didn't want fill from the box. I tried to hide the wiring as much as possible. Filled the fuse block hole and ran the front wiring over the steering column out thru the fire wall behind engine and then down the frame rail. ECM mount behind the glove box. I don't have AC. Auto Meter gauges.
I've used Speartech and found them to be very good. A bit expensive but very good tech service. Speed Engineering full length headers. Hate buying China stuff but they fit well and about 1/3 the price of other headers. It's been a great swap.
