LS1 oil pressure ports
We're back...
We have a 98 LS1 in an 89 S10. The factory LS1 oil pressure sensor is in place and feeds the PCM. Seems to work OK. Now, we need to place an 89 S10 oil pressure sensor on the engine to feed the factory gauge. Are there any other ports on the block, besides the one at the top rear?
Another option may be an adapter that threads into the block (top rear) that will accept BOTH the 98 Vette sensor AND the 89 S10 sensor. Does anyone know of such an adapter? We can build one, but at this point, I'd rather not reinvent something that is already on the market.

Thanks to both of you!
I was under the impression that the PCM used the oil pressure sensor signal to decide whether to turn the fuel pump off (in the case of no oil pressure). This new info should make life MUCH easier! Now all I need to do is compare the threads of the LS1 & 4.3l sensors.

Another option is to buy the autometer adapter (LS1 to 1/8" NPT) and then drill and tap it for your sensor (likely 1/4 or 3/8 NPT). The brass adapter will be very easy to work with.
If you don't want to do any machine work, another adapter for 1/8" to whatever you need should be readily available.

Thanks again for your input.
I disconnected the LS1 sensor connector and you are right!. The computer didn't care....no trouble codes or other problems. After that, I modified the LS1 sensor (removed the guts, drilled & tapped it) and stuck it back together with the original S10 sensor before I read your reply. It works fine! I probably would have ordered the Autometer adapter had I read your reply first. The S10 sensor IS 1/8 npt. That was the last of the minor "bugs" as far as we know, so we're just gonna have fun driving the "new truck" for awhile. One test run produced 23.2MPG city/hwy, which is better than the original 4.3, and a lot more fun.
