Default What would you choose??

Hey, guys. Need some input here. My 2000 Camaro SS 6M has 150K+ and I am itching for a project. I manage a hotrod shop in Puyallup, WA that specializes in LS swaps so I have great access to equipment and knowledge.

I have two options I'm considering, both would be a daily driver:
1. Keep my Camaro, cam swap, LS6 intake and rebuild the engine/trans. It would make good power and get decent mileage.
2. This one could be fun if done right - get a 2000+ full size GM truck or SUV 2wd and swap in a 2007+ 6.0 (LY6 with awesome L92 heads), do a cam swap and minor upgrades that usually get around 500hp at the crank. I'd get performance suspension and brakes, too. This could be a great sleeper.

What would you rather do? Just seeing if you guys have input I may not be considering.

If I needed a truck I'd do that, otherwise I'd go w/ the rebuild.

why not get the truck motor with the L92 heads and drop that into your Camaro?

I like the 'keep my Camaro" option, as long as the car is in decent shape.

Get the truck. You can't make a Camaro into a sleeper.

Those two things seem totally different and don't appear to require any of the same parts. Why not do both?

Stangtrader, I work at Chris Holstrom Concepts. Check out our work on Facebook. We've done some really cool LS builds.
Chuckd71 I don't have that budget or space for that yet.

I'm leaning towards building my Camaro for now. I could use it as a DD but do some local race stuff, too.

Oh, okay. I was thinking maybe you sort of had this stuff sitting around the shop or something. But if funds and space mean you are only doing one then the truck seems more useful.

If the camaro is in good shape keep it. You'll always be able to find a truck to play with, but a good fbody is only going to get harder and harder to find.

The Camaro is in really nice shape, I think the best move is to mild-build my original LS1 for now and build a LY6 for when mine gets too tired. Then its just a R&R without huge costs all at once.

Do the Camaro, sleepers are overrated and so overly done that it's not as cool anymore.
