Default LSX Swap with LT1 K-member?

Has anyone done a LT to LS swap and kept the LT k member? I've heard from a few people you can reweld the stock k member or buy adapter plates but haven't found any concrete results. If I wanted to do a swap with a stock LT k member, what problems might I run into?

Use the common SBC adapter plates with a 1" setback on factory LT1 engine and K-member mounts

The problem is with the steering rack angle to the column. Manifolds will clear but some of the headers will hit the shaft.

I did it, but the Engine sat 1" forward of where it should've been using the plates. It's just how it ended up, someone had made special plates for the LT1 K-member. IMO use the LS1 one, it's alot easier.

Sounds like you could use a pair of 1" set back mounts like Pocket said.....then bolt in an LS1 rack and intermediate steering shaft like Flame said.....and it should eliminate those problems, but like Merv said just swap to the LS1 k-member and be done with it. You still need to use the LS1 rack and steering shaft either way for header clearance. They usually sell for $100 or less.
