I would say the motor choice comes down to availability and price.

The headers can be accomplished by ordering a set of custom units (high dollar) or getting a set of 351 Ford headers and reflanging them with ls flanges. This is the route im going and its def doable and much cheaper.

I reccomend speaking with John at PSI conversions for your harness and computer, he is super cool and very knowledgeable.
AJE makes a real nice K member and cross member for the LSX to Mustang combo's. The drive shaft can be made custom or I hear mixed things that a mustang shaft can be used with Precision U-joint 353, and strange U1661 yoke. I will be able to tell you soon if this is true. I will be approaching that part of my build soon.

Just have a driveshaft built, measure and take it to a local shop. Mine cost 270 with solid trunions. I useddynatech headers an Aje k with ls mounts. No fitment issues, better than what was in there actually. I modified my stock trans mount. My harness was built by bpautomotive. Oh and I have a ls1 but the 5.3 can be had for a lot cheaper and then throw a single turbo on it and have fun. I'm all motor so I want to be as light *** possible.
