Default Two LS Swapped Mazdas :) (RX8 GT1 Build)

Hey Everyone! I thought it was time I'd post up some info about my two LsX swaps.

My very first swap I built 5 years ago was my FC RX7. It started out as a Turbo II RX7. It originally had a 525hp LS1, but now has a 680hp 429 Stroker LS3.

Here are a few pics and a video of it at the strip.

Mazda #2!
After lapping my FC LS3 street car around the Edmonton Indy track, I have decided it is time to build a full out GT1 Race Car.

The car of choice is a 2004 Mazda RX8.

The engine will be a custom MMZ LS1 5.7L Pushing around 550-600 hp.

Here are some sneak peaks of the car:

Finally some more updates.

I will have engine pics up soon.

I finished majority of the front end fab, so I decided to start with my 8.8 IRS swap.

Here are a bunch of pics so far.

Started to strip down all the rear suspension.

T bird 8.8 painted and ready for mock up.

Both cars look nice and to be surronded by all the other cars in that shop really should add to the motivation of building a top notch car

Are you racing under WCMA? If so, wouldn't it be GT-S due to the engine not being Mazda?

In any event, you'd better be bringing it to Gimli!

It would still be in GT1. They say the swap would be under the WCMA discretion. I was talking with them and because the GT1 class is so low on drivers I would be fine.

I will still have it meet minimum weight in that class which should make it fair to race.

I am pretty excited!

Just make sure you aren't overly competitive and it should work out.

Anyways, I look forward to your build!

Do you have any more updates?

Do you have any pictures of the motor mounts you made? I am planning on doing the same swap, but I want to fab my own parts.
