Default planning a project - lotus 7/locost

Im planning out a lotus 7 replica build which i want to include a LSX (likely ls1) and C4 corvette rear end/suspension (likley dana36)

What solid/small/light manual trans would you recommend? Dont really need 6 speeds or all that extra mass of a t56

If you need OD, find a G-Force or AstroGear T-5, if not, any of the G-Force, Tex, Jerico, etc dog boxes or an AutoGear M-22 (4 ratio sets) will work and weigh about 70# dry...

Why not do a transverse mid engine version with an LS4 and a G6 transaxle?

The T5 can be built to be very strong and is small and light.
