Default 54 Belair LS swap

So after a few years off i figured it was time to build another toy.....so here goes 54 Belair.....bought it South Carolina.....out "235 6cly blueflame,3spd,torque tube rear end drum brakes....In" LS6 with carb conversion, TH350,Rear end out of a 70 Nova,Disc brakes off a 79 camaro, new wiring, king pins, idler arm rebuild, new spring busings,ect....lowered 4" other than that it is staying as is.....plain old skool hot rod...The ls dropped in like it came from the factory..transdapt sbc mounts with ls adapter plates I made, Hookers new exhaust mainfolds fit perfect, truck oil pan clears the steering....other than the standard trimming to put a sbc into one of these cars...there was no issues....

I am planning on swapping an LS1 into my 54 Chevy 210. I'm glad I found this thread as I have some questions for you.

Are you using the stock front end? I have switched mine to a No Limit Engineering unit.
Are you using an aftermarket transmission crossmember for your car?

The car has the stock front suspension, and factory transfer crossmember I just had to fabricate a pad for the mount to bolt to on the front side of the factory piece...

Barry, Did you need to cut the transmission tunnel? I'm in the middle of doing this swap now myself. Thanks for the help.

Not with the TH350 with a short tail shaft , there is actually a ton of room, I cut the ribs off the fire wall and have the motor sitting so the back of the heads are about 2 1/2 inches from the fire wall.....

What did you do for a power steering pump delete pulley?
Did you use truck brackets or car? I you can't tell I am trying to finish up a 54 Chevy.

Thanks

Good question. I'd like to know as well.

What motor mounts are you using? Could you take a picture of a front view of the mounts. Id like to see how high the bolt thru hole is relative to the frame rails

that DOES sit in there perfectly! Even plenty of clearance for the AC compressor. That fits better than in a squarebody! ha Its nice to see the Holley manifolds in use to with stock steering, that is the direction I was debating going as I really didnt want to have to add a whole Crossmember and rack to the build.
