Default Pulling Motor and Harness ?'s

Ok guys, I'm pulling a LQ4 from a 04' 2500 HD 4x4. Been tinkering with it when I have time, but planning on getting it out tomorrow. Wanna keep the harness too.

The wiring looks a little intimidating to me, especially where everything goes to the fuse/relay box on the drivers inner fender. Any tips on getting this stuff out?

Also, I need to pull and leave the trans in since I'm not getting it. Any tips on getting this thing out leaving trans in?

Thanks guys.

Flip the fuse box over and there should be a few bolts holding the wiring in.

Once the covers are off and the fuse box flipped over,it will all become obvious, just unbolt and unplug.I also found it helps if you pull the intake off,
gives you a bit more maneuvering room to get the oil pan clear of the crossmember,if its a 2WD truck, you can just unbolt the cross member as well.

OK thanks. So I need to go ahead and remove the harness completely before I try to extract the engine right?

I think it may be easier to get to the bell housing bolts also with intake removed

You should be able to remove the engine as a complete pull out with Accessories, wiring, etc..

There should be large connectors to disconnect the Engine harness from the Body harness and the rest of the Engine bay harness. Sometime referred to as the Cxxx connectors.

The engine harness is pertty much a standalone harness, all you need to do is find the correct wires to add power (batt and Ign) and what other trigger wires needed (Fan, Fuel Relay, etc) and if your PCM/ECM is reprogramed it should start right back up.

For the trans/Bell housing, you should be able to use a (very) long extention and flex socket to remove the bell housing bolt from the back and below.

Trans is junk. It slips in and out of gear going forward, but I'll ask the guy if you're interested in one that needs a rebuild lol
