i was told this is the highest hp stock bottom end 5.3 is this true

No idea.. but would not beleive it myself.. I am sure there are a lot of Pro's out there that have much higher HP Output and are still running.. There is someone always Faster and has a more powerful engine. If not today, Tomorrow..

Hot rod put a big turbo, stock bottom end 5.3 in a nova wagon, and made just over 1100hp with it. I think they said they made 40 pulls, most of the time over 600hp. Then went out and raced it a few weekends before it blew up. When they took it apart is when they figured out it was actually a 4.8.

How NOT to run a dyno session! I've seen wheel weights slung through garage doors and anything that drops between the drum and tire is a missile. Lucky no one was hurt. As mentioned above, one of the magazines made a ton of power on a stock motor but it turned out to be smaller than this 5.3 on tear down...

I cant view that Youtube pic, but Truckin Magazine built a turbo 5.3, and got around 1,300hp. They thought they had blown it, but was only a pushrod I think.

it was just a simple question the guys there told me that it was a fully stock bottom end minus rod bolts and head studs.i was like dang pretty impressive for a stock bottom end to with stand all that turbo time and nitrous.

Yes 996 rear wheel horsepower not engine dyno. Hot rod did theirs on an engine dyno. We were going for 1000 and it did not make it o well. And for those who want things like this in a who gives a rats *** forum don't click on it if did not interest you.

There are more than a few people making over 1000 whp stock bottom end. I think the highest HP I seen was up in the 1300 range.
That was the highest wheel HP for a stock 5.3. There were 5.3s that have made more but most of those guys care about track times and not dyno numbers so never put them on the rollers.
