Default Transmission alignment

Finally got the 5.3/4l60e mounted in my 72' Chevelle and finding that the transmission is about a 1/4 inch off center in the frame. Anyone know if this will cause a problem?
Thanks
Bob

As long as the Engine Trans are Parallel with the Frame Rails and perpendicular with the Pinion / Yoke of the Rear diff.. you should have no problem.

BBC were offset from the Factory.. not sure how much.. but I offset my LS1 in my Chevelle by about 3/8" for Clearance issues.

When I first put my engine in, mine was off by quite a bit. I loosened on the mounts and shifted it over to center, then re-tightened everything. There is a lot of play in all the mounting holes, so don't be afraid to move things to where you need them before cinching it down.

Thanks bczee and Bandit. I will lossen the frame mounts and see if that allows me to install the trans mount on the crossmember. I did find that I can use the original crossmember from the 350 without having to cut and weld, just have to drill one hole in the frame on each side.
