Default fuel pump / no fuel pump - question

Planning a LS install in my 1970 Chevelle.
Have 5.3 engine and 4L60e and gas tank and pump, and more.
Put a SBC into the car last week so I can have some summer fun and do the big swap over the winter.
Now have a fuel line leak, so I am thinking of installing the new stamped steel gas tank that has a pump inside it for the LS engine.
I know that pump has way too much pressure for the carb fed small block 350.
Is there a standard fuel tank pickup I can put into the tank so I can run the old style engine for the summer?
Thank you,
Charles~

You could just take the pump out of the sender alltogether and put a piece of fuel line in its place. A piece of steel fuel line held on with a short piece of hose and a couple clamps should do the trick.

Alternatively you could swap in an entire return style efi fuel system with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and turn the fuel pressure down to whatever it needs to be for the carb. You will have to find an AFPR which works at that low a pressure though, there won't be many.
