Question Z28 fuel gauge with 0-90 ohm fuel cell sending unit?

Just wondering if it is possible to get the OEM 2000 Z28 fuel gauge in the cluster to cooperate with a 0-90 ohm "gm" style fuel sending unit like is found in many fuel cells. Has anyone been able to get this combination to work?

Sure it's not 0-90 ohms? Cause I've never heard of a 0-50 range...

Hmm, looking at the fuel cell documentation, yes, it is 0-90 ohm. Know how to make that work?

It can be done. You will have to wire the gauge through the PCM and use the fuel output of an express van. You can then program the PCM to output the corresponding tank values. With that setup you can use any combination of gauge and sending units that you want. If you want to use a 243 PCM (04 GTO) they changed the OS a bit and you would have to run a resisitor inline to get a minimium of 40 ohms.

Using a 411 pcm are you able to wire it through the pcm? It is currently on a 2000 z28 tune and has the matching gauge.

Yes follow the wiring diagram. There are multiple tables in the OS. Basically you will have to program it so that the reading input is proper. If you are using the 00 dash it will then work properly. If you want to use an external gauge then you will have to do an express van wiring. PM me I can point you in the right direction if needed.
