Default Gmc yukon 2500xl 6.0 2001 model

All,

Would this motor be good choice for my Camaro -79. I know about the issues With front drive and oil sump.
I have a 5.3 in my Tahoe With LPG and I'm very happy with it.

Anymore info regarding the Yukon motor will be Nice.

It will be a good motor and if you have a cowl hood the front accessories will work. I have a 79 T/a and managed to squeeze the accessory drive in by building my own motor mounts that allow the engine to set lower. I'll have to be careful though because my oil pan is dead even with my subframe cradle. Put a cam on that motor with a set of 243 heads (i think those are the ones that are the same as 317 but with smaller combustion chamber, could be wrong though) and you'll have a fairly peppy engine. Plus it'll still get good mpg. At least on the highway.

Oh btw if it has iron heads on the motor, the engines crank is to long for manual transmissions.
