Default Chevy c10 ls swap help!!!

Hey guys, Noob to this forum. I recently bought a LS 5.3 vortec and I started cleaning the cylinder walls and everything else up but I noticed there was a little pitting(may not be). Could you guys tell me if this is normal wear or actual pitting and if you have any suggestions I'm all yours. I'm getting the gaskets today and will be doing a compression test asap but I thought I'd come in here and ask everybody for their input.
Thanks

Thanks appreciate it. It's not rough at all it was cleaned and honed about 1000th of an inch. I feel that we're ready to start putting back together but my buddy is kind of iffy about it. So I thought I'd come in here and see what any body else thought. I'm thinking of changing the piston rings and the rod bearings to be safe. The more replies the faster I can install this thing in my truck and show you guys pictures lol

Welcome. I would pull the pistons while you have it this far down. Looks like its maybe had water in the cylinder.
Pay to check it out further.

Unless this is a daily driver project, I would button it up and roll with it.. Worst that could happen is it starts to smoke and runs faster!!

Oh yeah, can you resize the picture down some? 800x600 works pretty good by my experience.

Take like a fine ball point pen an use it to go over the area u can feel even the smallest of pitting with it,
If u can't really fill anything roll with it
If u fill some small pitting id pull it an check the rings, replace if needed then roll with it lol

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. So I've gotten a few suggestions. One guy told me to just replace the piston rings and connecting rods bearing races. And a couple of other guys have told me to just bore it out and upgrade piston, gaskets, rings, main rod cam bearings, timing set, oil pump freeze plugs and yada yada. Pretty much rebuild or use what I have? Also this will be a daily for me, more like a 2-3 times a week but you guys get the picture. Please advise...
