Default Hydraulic Clutch Master Install

I am getting ready to put a T56 in my '70. I have all stock style parts from a F-body. I was searching through threads for pictures, but there are a lot of threads.

If you guys wouldn't mind posting som pics of your installs I would greatly appreciate it. I need to see how the clitch master cylinders are installed.

I made my plate from the template in the FAQ Sticky.. Mounted behind the Brake booster. I used 1/8" steel plate. Bent up as needed for the correct angle and mod'd the rod and Pedal as stated in the Sticky.

added travel stop (hood adjuster)

I'm probably the odd one here, in that I modded my car to take a Wilwood clutch master and Wilwood manual brake master. I'm typing this. In from a phone, so can't dig up the build thread, but its here somwhere. FWIW, I just didn't like the angle at which the clutch rod attached to the clutch pedal (which was unmodified). I believe the angle was responsible for the master cylinder failing on the first day of use. So, word to the wise: either mod the pedal as detailed above, mod the car to take an aftermarket master like the Wilwood, use a Tick master (much better build than stock), or risk leakage.

For my pedal setup, I brought a re-pop clutch / brake setup off of eBay. Took the Clutch pedal, cut/grinded the welds off and repositioned the arm.

To check correct alignement and travel. I used a Vise grip to hold in place before I welded it.

I have a BMR bracket left over from my 68 Camaro when I put the 408 and T-56 in it I will sell cheap if you want it just PM me. Nothing wrong with it I just ended up with two brackets it bolts in under the brake master.

No it is the same bracket I used with power brakes on my 68 it fits fine. Looks like the one in the pics above but has a bend in it so the clutch master sits level.

Mines basically the same as above. I bought my bracket on ebay and modified my clutch pedal.

If I had it to do over again I would use a Wilwood or Tilton master cylinder...easier to mount and rebuildable...my .02

do you have a hydrolic throw out , or a slave and fork , I have a slave and fork setup on my 68 that I took off a 96 ss camaro , hate it ,it takes lots of effort to push , and ive got alot of chatter , been thru it twice , thinking of switching to a t5 , the trany is cool having all those gears though

You can make an adapter plate for your firewall and bolt this 3/4 bore Wilwood, weld on your pedal rod to the wilwood rod (or adapt the thread), amke sure the length matches up to the old original master clutch rod. Easy as cake to install, bleed and works right away with zero headache.

Couldn't agree more, only I modified the firewall instead of making a plate: Build Thread

If you want to be lazy, buy a kit from the various companies that sell them. I got mine from Keisler, but there are others. Here is my set-up:

New new Keisler bracket is billet. The kits come with the rod and a 3/4" bore MC, which is what is needed for the T56 slave and the Wilwood MC has 1.4" of travel, which allow room for adjustment. I recommend doing a pedal stop as bczee has done.
