Need some advice to build an ls1 I'm new, don't know as much about engines but I want to learn, I have a 82 el camino and I'm looking on putting a 5.3 ls but I want to build it as an ls1 I want atleast 350 horsepower or more I would appreciate for ur help

You can almost get 350 HP out of a 5.3 without changing anything. Just a cam upgrade can get you to 400 hp at the crank.
Some guys will bore out a 5.3 to the size of an LS1 5.7. The crank in the 5.3 vs. 5.7 is the same except the 5.7 is lightened and balanced for heavier pistons.
