Default trans questions

If I buy a truck motor 4.8, 5.3. 6.0, etc will the electronics of the 700r be compatible with the motor? I know one bolt is won't be able to be used in bellhousing. But with a simple aftermarket harness will everything work well?
Or should I avoid the hassle and just get a 4l60E?
I say this because my project was originally going to use a tbi/700R from a 92 caprice but have decided against it now and go LS motor. This will go in an old 50's truck. thanks

I don't think any 700r4s were electronically controlled, it should shift by using a TV cable. When they switched to electronics, it was changed to the 4l60e.
