Default 66 Beaumont -LQ9/ 200r4

I will make a complete build thread once its running .
-I will show how I made the Kooks Chevelle headers fit, in a 66 A-body . No , they don't bolt right in like advertised, but they are still beautiful headers.
-Mast oil pan
- Custom type 2 power steering pump mount and hose fittings
-Fabbed idler pulley mount
-Fabbed low mount alternator mount ( NO A.C.)
-Heater delete , and water pump steam hole fitting
- Dingo sliders, on modified frame stands
-Extreme Automatics 200r4 , reverse full manual VB , Trans brake , Edge racing 3600 non -lock up TC.
-Holley HP EFI , Edelbrock nitrous , Terminator TBI , with modified Holley LS1 harness .
This is a stock Escalade engine , with a Tick Performance spec .cam swap and rocker trunion upgrade, and new gaskets/ seals. Once its running and tuned well , I will hook the N20 , and later look for a better set of heads , or possibly a complete 408 long block. The junk yard engines are a great place to start.

The Kooks conversion headers would fit out of the box , 68-72 A- bodies , but the 66-67 A-bodies are 4" narrower in the frame . Notching and plating the lower control arm brackets was required . These 1-7/8 stainless long tubes are really nice pieces. Good ground clearance.

Because the heater core is removed , I ran the steam vent to the return side of the water pump . Heating the pump with a propane torch , I then popped out the pressed in hose pipe , and then tapped the holes with a pipe thread tap.
The pipe that I removed happened to be the size needed for the return side of the Cadillac Fleetwood Type 2 power steering pump . I pressed the 'hard to find' pipe into the power steering pump, and fabbed a bracket to mount the pump as low as possible , and still clear the Jeep Grand Cherokee steering box, and Jeep steering shaft.
