Default Speedometer not working with cable x

I installed the cable x box in my 1965 Olds VC LS1 4l60e , 2004 GTO swap and get no speed reading. The trans seems to shift right so the VSS must be working. I pulled the signal off the ECM (#50 on green connector) if I remember right. I'm wondering if I have to go straight to the VSS output to get the right signal for the box? Anyone had this issue before.
Also, I'm using an early GM (S10) cruise control. Can it use the ECM VSS output or does it need the VSS output.
Thanks for any insight on this.

Default

I called cable-x today and the signal from the ECM is different than the VSS signal. They gave me a procedure to reset the dip switches and checking the speedometer @ 60mph. Then I'll have to reset the switches according to a different calculation.
