Thanks man, I'm surprised more people aren't watching since it's a true street car with ac. Guess everyone's more interested in full race car builds.

Quick updated, started on the passenger side hot side. C6 manifolds were the way to go to clear the compressor.

Hasn't been asked, no worries.

2 3/8 slides right in to the opening in the manifolds. So that's like the first 3 inches, then it's 2.25 all the rest of the way.

Awesome. Thats the size I plan on using versus 2.5". Figured the 2.25 would probably help with spool.

I was back and forth about it for awhile. But 2.35 damn near slips in to the t6 flange once you square it out a little in a vice. From what I've found on here looks like 2.25 crossovers have been over 1500hp. That's plenty good for me. Plus I needed as much clearance as possible to make the bend behind the compressor. Smaller diameter makes it easier.

Damn yea 1500hp is way more than mine will ever see!. Luckily I'm running a stripped engine so I should have less clearance issues with no AC or power steering. *Knock on wood*

Looks real similar to my build. Love it. How do you plan on doing the rest of the a/c system?

In for progress, this is exactly what I had in mind for my next project. I'd love to see more pics of the manifolds you used and how well they clear the engine mounts and k member. Do you know where you are planning to route your downpipe yet? The car looks great so far!

I have all the hard parts for it. Pretty much it comes down to getting lines made. There's a guy that pretty much all he does is ac systems on hot rods, and other custom applications. I'm having him complete it, and it will be using steel braided ac lines as well to complete the look.

I'm using c6 corvette manifolds. Those seem to of had the best chances of clearing everything. Only thing I have to trim is the heat sheild on the driver side where it hits the steering shaft.

I'll post some more pics soon of the manifolds. We ended up having to do a miter cut on the 2 3/8" tube that comes right off the manifold. It's not the ideal way to go about it, but you can't get a tight enough mandrel bend straight out of the manifold that would clear the engine mount, and the back of the compressor. It's not at an extreme angle at all and pretty straight, just moves it off to the side enough to start the swing around to the front.

As fas the down pipe, right of the turbo it will be reduced to 4in then go at a 45 degree angle down lever with the bottom of the radiator and straight out the bumper. Before the end of the bumper I will have a cut out that when closed to will send the exhaust out the back of the car through a muffler. That part of the exhaust will go over the tie rod, and a arm then kick back in by the starter and out to the back.

Awesome man. Above all this has to be a useable streetcar first. It's too damn hot here in Texas not to have ac. I have a 240sx racecar with no ac, and it's already almost too hot to drive it. Buddies are giving me **** and saying look at how big of a pain in the *** it's been but it's easier to do now, then redue it later. They also give me hell about running a 3.08 gear. It's all highway where i live, if it can't cruise at 65-70 without winding out, i might as well made it a trailer car. This might not be the fastest car, but it will still be a cool/fun car.

And I love seeing the ford guys get all butthurt when these swaps are done. **** cracks me up.

Enter the car. It's a 93 LX, originally green, it was repainted merbach silver metal flake. The paint is gourgous!! Here's a pic of the car before I bought it.

Naturally the guy wanted stupid money for those wheels. So I bought the car as a roller, with no engine/trans. It has frame connectors, and a built rear end with 31 splined moser axles. I had to barrow a set if wheels to get it home.

I don't have a pic after I cleaned up the interior, but it's mint.

After I washed all the dust off the car, and the first time I saw it in full daylight.

However the engine bay wasn't painted.

So I'm jumping on the stock bottom end band wagon. I already have the usual stuff: ported ls6 oil pump, head studs, and ls9 head gaskets. I'll need to pick a cam out once I decide in the exact turbo. Shooting for 7-800hp on e85. It will be a s480 of some sort. I also still need to pick valve springs too.

I have a Neal Chance turbo 400 trans. It's got all the good race parts in it minus a trans brake. I got the engine and trans from a good friend of mine. The engine sat in a barn with no heads on it for the last 2 years. The water jackets and runners in the heads had hornets nests in them, so I'll have to get those parts hot tanked. The trans sat open too, so I'm going to run through it too.

It came with a fast intake too...

The take down...

The insides were just trashed from sitting open for so long.

Even the girlfriend likes to get dirty. She's very good with hand tools. Hell she usually changes up my clutch set ups at the strip in my bike!

And now parts!

With harness

I got a smoking deal on all the suspension parts. All UPR pro series parts. All the stuff was brand new, never installed except the k member. It was mocked up and that's it.

Strange 10 ways

Flaming river rack

Do you live in AZ? is that why your keeping the A/C, I live in AZ so I have to keep a/c on my stuff which sometimes is a pain in the ***, but worth it!! Nice natural rack on your girl too!!! Good luck with the build!!
