Default Which first gen subframe causes the engine to sit lowest?

Stock subframe causes blower (gm zl1 twin screw) to hit hood. Trying to avoid cowl. Any thoughts?

What engine mounts and oil pan are you using? If needed, modify the subframe and/or mounts to suite your needs.

Good point, I assumed he was referring to an F-body, but that may not be the case.

Funny, that is exactly what I thought! A bit hard to help troubleshoot without complete information.

1st gen Nova doesn't have a subframe (3rd are subframed).
1st gen A-Body are full Frames
1st Gen Vettes are full Frames
1st Gen B-Body are full Frames

by deduction... most likely 1st gen F-Body. but good info in the question would cut all of this chatter out !

Agreed. There are also import and non GM brands to consider of which I admittedly don't follow more than a few vehicles.

Next is the style of engine mounts one decides to use and who made them, oil pan and / or steering clearance, etc.. There are so many variables it's an almost impossible question to answer without more information.

Now I'm following the thread just to see what the blazes the OP is working on.

I don't really think its "what sub-frame" as much as it's the body over it.
How much you lacking ? Notch the crossmember ? (also said above)

Sorry guys. First gen Camaro. A 1968. Got an lq4 with a zl1 blower on it.

I am going to fire it up with the blower for the first time tomorrow. It is going to be tuned in the next few weeks by Dan Maslic.

I intend on doing a frame off starting early next year. My current stock subframe probably took a hit at some point in the past so it needs replacing. But the engine needs to drop a few inches to clear a flat hood. Plus a lower center of gravity won't hurt!
What I meant to ask was ... which aftermarket subframe will drop the engine the most?

Can't really add any input to which one might be best..

But Question.. how much clearance (both the oil pan and the cross member) do you currently have ?.. will you be lowering the car any (now or during the resto) ? Are you going to R/P ?... How much can you lower and still be safe to drive around with out plowing everything sitting on the road ?

I'll be at the Good Guys this weekend at Pleasanton.. if any of the vendor are there.. I take a look and ask a few questions..

Car has plenty of clearance now. Auto craft pan is above crossmember. The car has 2" drop front springs. I appreciate the help!

I have very little direct experience with those cars. I know Detroit Speed in Charlotte builds, sells and installs a LOT of suspension parts for them. I think at least one of the cars they built had the same supercharger on it. I know they make a sub frame for your car so I would talk to them and see what they say.
