Default 1967 camaro ls swap

I have just started my swap pulled "old" engine only around 500mi since install was a fuel injected 327 with turbo 350. Now the new for mock up 2008 LFA 6.0 with ls3 heads and a very big cam. Here are some pics as of now. 1967 camaro ls swap-0813092141.jpg

Nice build, in doing a similar setup, 68 with a 6.0. What oil pan, mounts and headers are you running.

Also interested. I as well have a 68, and the 5.3/4l60e out of my truck. I would love to swap it in.

Im currently doing an ls 6.0 swap into my 68 camaro too. I used the trans dapt motor mount adapters, dynamax headers, and the gm performance oil pan

I used dougs headers and mounts. Those seam to be ok so for. The pan is muscle car pan from gm it is currently touching sub frame in front and pan looks pretty deep at back may have to choose another option.

Mine was also touching the sub-frame initially. I put a washers between the adapter plate and motor mount and it fixed the problem

Great minds think alike. That is exactly what I was going to do next. How many did it take?

I started with 2 but had problems with it lining up with the mounts. I then pulled it out and went with only one and it worked great. Also had enough clearance to run factory ls1 low mount alternator

Good to know. I will try that. As for alt I am running ctsv serp kit from gm and it is also low mount. I will probably have to cut a notch in frame to clear it.

Do you have any pictures of install? How low does your pant hang past sub frame?

Not sure if you've bought your harness yet, but PSI makes a good quality harness! I got one for my 5.3/4l60e combo as well as a programmed ecu for $699. The harness is well made and lays out really nice on the engine. I highly recommend them!

I have not bought yet but I will. As for programming I will get a base tune from a local shop here and take to dyno after all is done. Quoted $795 for base tune and vats delete and dyno time and tune. Sounds like alot of money but is a big time saver on tuning.

I don't have any pics currently. But if you want to pm me your number I can take some and text them to you. The oil pan hangs down a good little bit below the crossmember but not anymore than the long tube headers do.

That's good I hope I can use this pan was a good deal because I work at gm so my cost is pretty awsome so hate to buy aftermarket parts unless I have to.

As far as 4l60e did you have to get a different cross member or did it fit when engine was pushed forward? Drive line have to be cut down too? I was running turbo 350 but did have to cut drive line down when I installed 12 bolt. Also is slip yoke the the same on 4l60 as a 350? My trans is at my buddies house being built still.

Sorry didn't have a chance to take any pics of it today. I'm running my turbo 400 behind it for now
