Default Shifter for a 4l80e in a 2nd gen Trans am

Whats everyone using for a shifter...I have a old B&M mega shifter....non of the gears line up ....total mess.....Its the last part of the puzzle for me. I drove my new 370 for 20 miles finally and that shifter drove me nuts.....I adjusted it several time .......just doesnt line up the gears right....Im using a 4L80E....thanks

You're using the cable shifter, right? They have different detent plates for the 3 speed and 4 speed trans. You need the plate for a 4 speed obviously. Also, with some 4L80Es there is a PRNDL switch that will cause headaches as well and there is a bracket and lever kit that B&M sells to correct this.

I'm running the B&M Quicksilver ratchet shifter. I really like it. It'll work with almost any GM transmission.
