Default Need Help:::: 1968 Chevelle Lq9 swap

Hi,

I have a 1968 chevelle , That I am trying to do a lq9 swap. I have the dirty dingo sliding mounts with a f body pan. I want to know, Is there a way around me lifting the motor a 1/2 inch , Because I want to use a 4l80 and the lower it is, The easy it will be to fit the tranny without cutting. If not, Did any one fit a 4l80 in without cutting, But also lifting the motor?

In my 71 nova (same subframe as camaro) I used dirty dingo sliders and bmr's crossmember for the 4l80e and it fit like a glove no issues at all but I did use holley's oil pan

Most builds I've seen require about 1/4" to 1/2" of lift to get the required clearance.

Might suggest notching the F-Body pan and that will allow you to move the engine/trans forward some.. as is, with a F-body pan, it fits pretty tight and you have move the engine back to get it to fit pass the Crossmember.

The new Holley pan might be a good solution to allow the engine forrward and down low.
