Question for those who used Ford Headers
I'm doing a swap into a Ford but can only find 1-1/2" primary headers so that's what I'm stuck with.
Did you use just plain LS header flanges or those with stubs used to build headers from scratch?
Any pro tips for me?
Thanks,
Roger

Most people just use plain header flanges.
Those 1 1/2" primaries are going to be a smaller OD than the ID of the LS exhaust ports. I doubt that 1.5" exhaust flanges can even be purchased, so you may have to step them primaries down from 1 5/8" or 1 3/4" flanges.
Honestly though, if it were my choice, I'd just run factory manifolds instead of 1.5" headers.

You were exactly who I was thinking about. I'm doing a '78 Mustang II and they don't make larger primary headers. I wonder if the ones you used would work... I'm sure that even those puny 1-1/2" ones would be better than manifolds and present less problems. The headers on my volvo are 1-3/4, wish i could find some of those.

Well, i found 351W swap headers for under $600 so that helps. Hedman and Hooker make them. Looks like thats what I'll be using. One nice thing about this car is that i got all the front suspension choices you could want and the stuff is priced right ! Big brake kit, tubular control arms, dropped spindles...
I'm going to use an 8.8 rear in it but the previous owner swapped out the factory 7.5" for an 8" posi. That should sell pretty easy.
