Default Fox mustang 1350 universal joint conversion.

As luck would have it one of those 47.5" nascar takeout driveshafts floating around on eBay is the right length and has the right yoke for my 5.3/th400 powdered fox.

They use 1350 joints which is good and I'm sure come with quality ones installed so I'd like to use them not to mention the strength compared to my cars stock 1310 series joints.

I can buy a conversion joint to run my stock flange adapter for a quick and easy install. But I'd like to run the larger joints straight up.

Is there a 3150 flange adapter that will work on my 7.5 soon to be 8.8 that doesn't cost more than my entire trans and drivetrain? Or is it even an issue on a ICE 5.3 in a light car with a modest stall?

For the pinion flange on an 8.8 you can use one for a IRS car (03-04 Cobra). The Explorer one might be the larger flange also. I originally bought a crown vic police car drive shaft which is aluminum and uses the 1350 u joint. I ended up having a steel drive shaft made and used the rear flange from the drive shaft along with a 1350 u joint and the 03-04 Cobra rear pinion flange.

Actually just looked it up on ebay and it seems a bunch of vehicles all use that same larger pinion flange.

It might not be a problem. I run a 1310 to 1350 conversion joint on my Z (estimated 3200 lbs). Its held up to plenty of abuse from a H/C/I 5.3 with a 5 speed and LSD, including at least 15 passes at the track. No sticky tires though.
