Im still trying to figure out what happened with mine. I ordered my axle at 54 from axle to axle so 54.5 with brakes give or take. I think the stock axle is 60. Ordered my wheels 18x12 5.5 backspace and ended up having to run a 7/8 spacer to get the tires further out. So basically I should have ordered a 18x12 with 4 5/8 backspace. I should have used one of the wheel backspace tools like you did. FYI that was with a 335/30 BFG KDW.

Damn that sucks. Measured it again today and found reason. Mine is ~55" axle not 54" like most. They typically run 5.75 on their cars with 54" rearends. DSE suggests 5.5 but they're a little conservative.

Mine being 1" wider means 1/2" more BS. Measure and getting 18x12 w/ 6.25" BS

Hopeful we'll get that MT to fit well with that setup.

Update on my spending spree:

Texas Speed and Performance is building a shortblock for my project. LSX based 427" engine with upgraded internals to support the power I want to make. -20cc dish pistons, Ultra H-beam rods, and dragonslayer crank. Expecting it in ~4 weeks.

Rockland Standard Gear is building a magnum to "Tranzilla" specifications. Rated at 1000lb-ft and the upgrades they do, along with recommendations from several people as well as directly from Tremec and with my discussions with George, I decided this is the best route to take for my project. Looking forward to receiving this in the next 2-3 weeks.

Ricks Stainless is building a tank setup to run twin CTS-V pumps. Not notched, wanting full capacity and no need for the exhaust clearance. Expecting the tank to arrive in the next 2 weeks.

Vaporworx has set me up with a controller for the twin CTS-V pumps.. Carl's instructions are very clear and he is very helpful on the phone. He also gave me some insight on the V pump availability on Amazon for less than GM dealer, as well as sold me some retainers for the pumps for the tank. His shipment was VERY prompt as everything has already arrived and the charge on the card is "pending" still. Think it took 2-3 days for it to be delivered!

Deviate Motoring got me setup with a set of Forgeline GA3 18x9.5 and 18x12s in titanium w/ brushed lip. Took a long time to decide on these wheels as they are very popular right now. The Ride Tech Goodguys car has almost the exact same setup I went with. Just a very good looking wheel!

KP Racing in Houston has been working with me and the guys at GAP to get the car up and running. I have ordered a Spec ST clutch as it is rated for 1000-1500lb-ft. I also have ID1300 injectors that I am picking up from them and a NW 102R drive-by-wire throttle body.

I expect in the next 4-5 weeks I will have all the above parts as well as March Pullies, the Autorad core support and be able to start fabricating the turbo setup on the car with GAP's help. I am pushing this car and hoping to have it running for Goodguys in Dallas in October of this year.

Forgeline. They're the GA3.

Looks like I should have a lot of stuff showing up this week and next. Very hopeful to get the engine/trans next week so we can get them in the car. May be swapping out the LS9 heads and going with a 6 bolt aftermarket set.

Project "Might as Well" strikes again...With the change from the LS2 402 stroker plan to the LSX 427, the LS9 heads just aren't going to cut it. I've already found a buyer for the heads and I'll likely be picking up a set of MAST LS3 285cc "Black Label" heads to use for this setup. Should bring the compression down slightly (9.5:1 from 9.9:1).

Looking at interior options now and trying to figure out the direction I want to go. Right now I'm looking at TMI door panels:

Trying to decide on whether to have a console or not. I have the original but likely going to be replaced or removed completely. I'm wanting to move the e-brake to the floor between the seats and haven't seen a console I like that incorporates that.

As for the dash, I'm picking up a used DSE setup that will be filled with New Vintage USA gauges to appear "stock."

Also going with an RFID key setup so I can have push button start and a proximity key.

Hoping some of the big parts start showing up this week. Clutch didn't make it in last week, but supposed to be delivered Wednesday. RSG Tranzilla Magnum trans, March Pullies, Ricks fuel tank, and AutoRad core support should be showing up this week.

I'm also told my internals are "in line" to be balanced at Texas Speed, so hopeful that will get finished and the motor can be on the way!

That was set on there early on. I'm not running that intake. Waiting on a dual tb one currently.

I can see if I can set one on when the motor arrives to see hood clearance. I know another guy had issues with it clearing his stock cowl hood on a 68.

Got a big shipment of parts in today!
My Pro-Touring Project - 1969 Camaro LSX427 TT-ojolyky.jpg

Several boxes there. I didn't get pictures of some of the stuff but that's a full set of March Pullies, ATI Super Damper, waterpump, alternator, a/c, etc. The other boxes are the Autorad setup!

This is just a mock up as all this will be coated black. Not shown are the closeout panels, etc.

My Mast Black Label heads were supposed to show up but they got delayed a day. They'll arrive tomorrow. Clutch will be picked up with the heads tomorrow. Already picked up the ID1300 injectors!

More parts in. Pictures courtesy of DV8motoring.com! Will have some pics on the car tomorrow (maybe without tires). Going to pick them up and test fit them prior to putting tires on them, just to be sure everything looks right.

I couldn't wait to see how these wheels looked ont he car so I took the day off and rushed up to DV8motoring.com's headquarters to pick up my new wheels.

I took them to GAP Racing to test fit on the car and be sure everything fit the way it was supposed to. Everything looked perfect!

After the test fit was complete, I went back to DV8motoring.com's shop and mounted/balanced the tires!

Then it was back to GAP to assemble the rotors (preliminary, need to safety wire still), And put the wheels on to test fit with tires.
Wilwood 14.25" Front and 14" rear (Z06 fitment).

Now for the wheels on the car! Please dont mind the suspension settings. We've got some work to do to level the car out.
This is pretty much the stance I'm wanting for the rear wheel and it looks like it'll work.

Hard to believe they fit but we got them to work! They'll look a lot wider when the fuel tank goes in next week.

I do wish I had gone more mild on the build and enjoyed this car years sooner. Budget creep got me and wanting to buy the latest and greatest...Oh well. Next one will be smaller build.
