Default summit racing cast iron block?

has anyone used this block?

is it a good quality block? or do you guys have any suggestions for a block? looking to do a turbo build

Pretty sure those are just stock blocks (seasoned).

Yeah.. just checked, cleaned, machine work done... could be either Gen IIi LQ4 or LQ9 blovks since they are bored to 4.030.

CarCraft just did an article in their current issue on this block. One thing of note was it did not come with all the main cap bolts. Otherwise it looks to be a good value. They are building a 427 stroker.

Kinda weird that they bore it out to 4.030 without any sort of pistons there. What happens if you get 4.030 pistons and one of the holes is too big for those?

Would be better to just get your own seasoned block and match it up perfectly to the exact pistons you're putting in vs. some shop doing a random bore on it.

Ok so I looked for that carcraft article and I cant fined anything about it and cant fined the magazine in any store. I was just wondering to make the 427 are they boaring the block to 4.125?

April 2014 CarCraft. Came in the mail last week so it should be on the rack. They overbored it to 4.060 with a 4.125 stroker kit from Scat to make 427ci. They have $7 grand in the long block with machine work and TFS top end kit.

GM catalog says the 6.0Ls are only good to .030 over?
