Default TurboLSXgirl's 70 Chevelle Build

The last two years I've helped my husband build his 71 chevelle. Now its my turn, and I'm upping the game. I'm starting with a solid car, which is hard to find and alot less work than the 71 was. We found this car thru Craigslist when a friend sent my husband the link. After a few texts he hooked up the trailer and was waiting at the guys house when he got home. A deal was struck and the cars was ours.

The car came with a (not big enough for me) 5.3 and T56 trans and ls1 Camaro brakes installed. The previous owner had the right idea but poor execution. We'll redo some things and make it pretty. The 5.3/t56 are being sold to friends.

Heres the plan
Viper blue, white stripes, white interior
L96 6.0 comes with L92 heads stock
6L90 trans possibly paddle shift
S475 turbo t6 flange 1.32 ar
swap the 10 bolt for a 12 bolt axle
Add vintage air
And make 700 daily driven horsepower..girls like power too!

Pics-

The day it came home

And my motivation... Love this car!

The dash is something the previous owner was trying to do but didn't finish. Which seems to be the theme with every thing he was doing on the car. We are going back to factory dash, keeping it clean and simple.

Here are the ls1 brakes that came on the car. The alignment of the caliper is off and nothing was bolted securely. Should be an easy fix.

One of my favorite parts of the car. Shaved drip rails!

The 5.3 that came with the car. It's new home is a friends 49 Chevy 5 window pickup.

I don't like the pedal placement or the way the fire wall is boxed, we are looking for a firewall section to cut out of another car and weld back in on this car to mount the column and fuse block.

We would like to, but we'll play it by ear....its so much easier to paint the trim black.

Finally having some nice weather to spend time with the car. Removed the 5.3/T56 combo to cut out the firewall that was built before we bought the car, unfortunately its a lot bigger than was needed. We'll fix everything after we get the 6L90 mounted.

We reused the 5.3 to mock up the 6L90, it is mounted on the factory cross member and the assembly is sitting @ 4 degrees. I like to think that was to easy lol. And pics!

The '70 was my favorite year for the Chevelle, had the best looking front and rear ends of them all.

I can't wait to see this thing progress..

How are you going to get 700 hp out of this thing? I've got the same combo going into a '61 Cadillac which I'm thinking about dropping a turbo on so I can give it a VSport designation. Since your name is "TurboLSXGirl" I would assume it's a turbo, but the details would be nice. Or at least the current iteration of the details.

Subscribed.

700hp will be easy, S475 single turbo, two 10lb meth nozzles (since we live in texas). A big ebay intercooler, and a manual boost controller. The L96 makes 365 ish stock, 440-450hp after the cam, intake, headers.

Gonna be a cool ride. Are you working on the car, as well? Clean hands & flip flops aren't often seen inside a working garage, lol.
