Default calling all ls-280z drivers

quick question. I have chosen a 280z for my 1st swap. my question is I have a lq4, which I know weighs about 100lbs more than an ls1. Does that extra 100lbs make a big difference?

thanks in advance,
Bruce

really no1 can tell me? i have read that with the ls1 swap the car is almost perfectly balanced. would the extra 90/100lbs make the car nose heavy?

It won't make it nose heavy. I know the aluminum block motors will weigh a good bit less than the in line 6 that is in there now. Plus the weight is lower and farther back. Since 3/4 of the drivers weight ends up on the rear wheels aluminum block cars actually end up tail heavy. I know mine is.

I think the iron block motors come in close to the same weight but again are lower and farther back.

Upgrading to an aluminum radiator takes a good bit of weight right off the front end.

Cam that motor and it is going to be scary fast. Believe me. My car is far from the baddest one on this site anyway but it is without question the fastest car I have ever driven.

This is such a vague question, I really don't know how you could possibly expect a legitimate answer. And the number of variables involved makes this almost impossible to answer.

Yes it makes a big difference. Does it matter, not really.
