Looks like the alternator on my vortec motor will not clear the hood. Has anyone had this problem and replaced the alternator with a smaller 1-pin unit? Also want to make sure whatever I use will have enough amps.

Thanks
Bob

Have you thought of changing the alternator/PS bracket?

If you search I remember a few people saying a s10 alternator bolts on, but will sit 1" lower, I can`t remember what year S10 alt off the top of my head though

I have the same problem on my '69 Firebird and I already have the small alt though I don't know if it's the same one being discussed. I just ordered the DD alt-ps bracket. It allows you to retain the truck ps pump and lowers the alt.
