Default LS Swap mount position "A" Body

I'm doing an LQ9 swap into a 66 GTO with 4L80e . test fitting the engine the span between the engine mounts and the trans cross member is 46" . Just seem like a lot of mass between the two mount points . Anyone who has done an A Body swap have advise on this ?

The transmission mount on the 4l80e's are further back then what most are used to seeing. Nothing to worry about with the span. It bolts up the same way in every vehicle that has that combination in it.

Its like that in a stock truck application too. Don't worry about it, its perfectly normal.

It is one of the reason that the Transmission fully bolts up to the lower area now, that being to the lower Oil Pan.

In the older SBC trucks, they added two rods that went from those lower bell housing locations to the engine mounts for some added support.

But even without them lower bolts, I have not heard any problems popping up. And all of the aftermarket steel oil pans has no provision for the lower bell housing bolt holes.
