Default RX8 5.3l LM7 Swap

Hey guys,

I'm just starting to source parts for my 2004 RX8 LM7 swap. I'm going to beta test a swap kit. My plans are to do the install this year and then turbo next year. I've got the mounting kit and new power steering coming my way. Everything else I plan on fabbing / having fabbed by my buddy. The main question I want to ask is this.

They told me to grab the accessories off of an LS based CTS-V. Since the kit is made for LS engines, shouldn't I be alright just grabbing all of the accessories for _any_ LS engine (obviously not truck accessories). Either way, if anyone has a full accessory drive kit lying around...

CTS-V accessories will give you the most clearance, but pretty sure any ls based accessories will work on any ls, although some bosses aren't always tapped. and some use the truck acc, drive to locate alternator up high to clear frame, but I haven't seen an rx8 ls swap or met someone so cant say what will work, cts-v is a for sure fit, and sorry only have an a/c compressor for a f body if your interested no bracket no tensioner

Thanks for the info. I'll probably shoot for CTS-V for added space given I'll need as much as I can get. Love the 240 btw. I was looking at one before my wife told me she liked the RX8 better. Lol, compromises.

I have a 5.3L LM7 block, rotating assembly, and a bunch of misc. parts that I was going to use to swap into my 2006 RX8, but I ended up just buying a 2004 LS1/T56 pullout and going that route. Let me know if your interested in purchasing a LM7, because like I said I have everything except exhaust manifolds and accessory drive and want to get rid of it.

So I've called junkyards all over the place and can't seem to get my hands on all the cts-v drive accessories with mounting brackets. There is this

http://www.jegs.com/i/Chevrolet-Perf...ductId=2806347

but it says it won't work on any iron blocks? Is that just cause of the water pump? Cause I obviously need to replace that anyways. I'd really rather shy away from spending that much money of fricken accessories though...

It's usually the lower bolt hole in the iron block is not drilled. If you drill and tap the hole it should work fine. The outer dimensions of the block are the same regardless of displacement.

f body will still work without that bolt. I ran mine for years without issue. I wouldn't suggest it though.
