Default OBDII Wiring, scanner cant connect

2001 5.3L

I cant get scanners to connect to my PCM.

Followed Lt1swap's guide but it shows 4/5 being grounded. (currently to the chassis)

Link below says pin 5 should be "signal ground" from PCM
http://pinoutsguide.com/CarElectroni...i_pinout.shtml

Does anyone know which PCM ground Pin should be used?

Thats what i keep hearing... but there's only 4 wires
Even I cant screw that up.

Data
constant 12v
Two Grounds...

still not connecting. 3 different scanners.

I'll try moving the chassis ground to engine ground for the hell of it.
Test light confirms good chassis ground.

Brenden at LT1swap says pin1 or 40

It looks like you have it pinned right. Are you trying to connect with the key on or off? Second thing I would check is that there is no break in the wire going from OBD2 port to Blue connector pin 58. That is if you are using a Blue/red computer.

I was going to say try grounding the #5 to the same area/panel/frame area as the PCM...

I have my PCM inside and on top of the Trans Tunnel.. I grounded the PCM Grounds and the ODBII grounds to the Firewall, I then have a ground from the engine to the same bolt as the PCM Ground in firewall.. just on the other side of the firewall.

I also have three grounds from the battery, 1) to the block, 2) to the Frame and 3) to the Body. The engine is grounded to the Battery, firewall and frame (3 places).

Then you also need to check (add) your other ground wires. your ecm, frame, body sheet metal, and engine block, should all be "as one" as far as grounds go. if not, you need to add ground cables as needed between them to make it so.
