Default conversion help

I have a 77 Camaro 250I6 factory a/c. My dad and I are looking to swap in a LS based engine. A few questions, As far as the A/C and Pwr Steering would I use the ones from new engine or make brackets for the old ones. If I use the new A/C do I need to change out Evap, condenser ect or will the old be compatible. The A/C on the car was re-done recently.

I think you would use the AC Comp and Pwr Steeting from the new engine. I don't know about the evap...but I would suspect that you would use the old evap.

Since your AC is new I would look into one of the Holley mounts so you can re-use your system. Then use the LS power steering pump and adapt to fit your steering gearbox.

as long as the compressor is fixed displacement, it should be compatible. nothing magical about using hodge podge of AC parts.

I would use the new pump and compressor and did in my conversion. You will likely need adapter fittings on the pump and AC compressor. And to change the hose lengths.

I would try running the stock accessories. They worked for me with some small adjustments. I had to space out the compressor pulley and build a new compressor belt tensioner in my L92 swap.

I used all the 1998 F body accessories including the ac compressor. My car has been on the road for 11 years, still works fine.
