The truck manifolds are much wider than the corvette or camaro, as I understand.

Worth measuring. The truck manifolds were like 5" wider (outside of each outlet) than the corvette. They didn't fit my frame rails @ 27" between.
should be easy enough to measure?

Indeed, once I get the car here it will be no problem. If some massaging is in order, then it will be done. I can also flip the manifolds and make them point upward I believe.

I think you can mill the face a bit to change the angle, too. Still, I wouldn't count on that too much.

I have read that they fit with minimal interference when fitted the correct way so hopefully we are good. Thanks for the heads up

Well things took a turn for the weird and I ended up buying a whole Corvette T56 Drivetrain. It included everything from the engine back. The car will now be AMAZING with the 6 speed. I just have to work on mounting it. Timeline for the whole build is one month! Anyone have experience with shortening the torque tube?

If you worked on it full time for 1 month that would still be an aggressive schedule IMO. I think there are 1 or 2 guys on the 944hybrids forum that have either direct experience with the Corvette transaxle/TT or at least thought about it. They may be able to help with shortening the TT. Good luck with your build!

I know it's ambitious but I really hope to AT LEAST have the drivetrain in the car within the next couple weeks.

Is this how they normally so 944 swaps? Just dump the whole 944 torque tube and trans?

Well I got the motor and front crossmember out, next I will do the torque tube and rear suspension removal. Then I can start mocking up the trans!

I am replacing the stock torsion bar rear suspension with coilovers since I will need to trim the torsion bar housing to fit the transmission. I got the coilovers in today from ground control. They look great! Stock strut pictured for comparison.

shortening the TT would be fairly straight forward, there is a driveshaft inside that's aluminum, Just shorten that the same amount, as well as the shifter linkage.

i was searching last night on this, this is an interesting approach for this conversion. Looks like there is a lot more going on inside the torque tube but as you say, maybe it is just shortening the driveshaft and shifter linkage

Well I actually got good news regarding the torque tube. It does not need to be shortened after all. So I am very happy about that.

I ordered my turbo today. Largest S366 I could find. This thing is going to be a tire killer.

Looks like those exhaust manifolds will be a tight fit in their upward orientation. Is that the case?
