steam port hose???

Default steam port hose???

noob question but cant get a solid answer. i need to order hose for the steam port to radiator but cant find hose. i went to the local parts stores in search of 1/4in coolant hose and handed me 1/4 vac line. second store tried to hand me fuel line. i couldnt find 1/4 coolent line any where. anyone know if i could fuel line

I used 1/4 fuel line, works fine so far...2+ yrs, YMMV

Vacuum/fuel line will work fine.

As long as it is not washer/vacuum hose, unreinforced, you should be good. I have been using NAPA top grade hose for 4 years.

If you happen to have an unused braided brake line they look good.

Fuel line, done it for years in the shop, had some on my cars for 8+ years

Fuel hose is not rated for pressurized hot water, however some have used it and report that it works fine; won't argue with that. 1/4" coolant specific hose is available at NAPA.

Thanks for the replys. I'll check Napa today if not I have a piece of rubber fuel hose at the house that would work the. Thanks guys

Surely if its efi fuel hose it would be rated to more pressure than your coolant system could dish out!

Maybe...maybe not. Fuel doesn't operate at 210+ degrees like that steam crossover...

You are looking for Gates hose #28407. 1/4" temperature rated specifically for steam line.
