Are you intending to convert this to rear wheel drive?

If you are trying to keep this front drive you should start looking for an LS powered Monte Carlo SS drivetrain that they made a few years ago, a massive undertaking at best.

Going rear wheel drive...almost as difficult considering your car is a unit body car and without some subframing and major chassis fabrication this would be a real project.

Not to rain on your parade but a different vehicle might be a wiser choice to swap an LS into.

My Dad (may he rest in peace) once told me..."you can put ANY engine into ANY car if you have enough angle-iron and a welder". He spoke the truth.

If you're hell bent on making a front drive LSx ES300, other donor cars include the Pontiac Grand Prix GXP and Buick LaCrosse Super. Personally, I'd find a more suitable car for a transplant. However, If you got awesome fabrication skills, I'd convert the car to RWD and use it to surprise a lot of people .

Thanks guys a lot! I'll probably just go ahead and find something with RWD that I can sneak up on people with. Any suggestions by the way?

If you like Lexus, especially from that era, find a mid 90's LS. They have more room under the hood and are already RWD.

Are you looking to stick with something from Toyota? Unusual? Luxury? What's your ultimate dream for the project?

easiest swaps in a non gm car, 240sx and fc rx-7, something I'd rather drive everyday a Lexus IS300 or a bmw 3 series,
